Sadly, most of the repairs I make are for Virus, Malware, and Spyware removal. A proper Anti-Virus program is imperative in this day of Facebook, My Space, and the multitude of Peer-to-Peer websites. If you use Limewire, you better have a very good one, especially if teens have access to it. Free anti-virus programs are pretty useless against a-holes that get off by infecting your computer. Virus and malware repair identification is tedious and time consuming. Removal and recovery is no less taxing.

I have held a good line in repair pricing, and even though there is an increase in 2010 repair costs, they remain in line with my desire to provide effective repairs at a very low price.

Memory or RAM, after viruses and malware, is the biggest culprit in slow performing computers. Companies selling lower cost computers like Compaq, Emachine, and HP
usually install a minimum amount of memory, allowing for lower cost. This becomes an issue and rears its ugly head as soon as you start loading up your machine with programs, tool bars, and applications that require more and more memory. If you have Windows XP, Vista, or Window 7 and have less than 1Gb of memory in your modern computer, you are at a staggering disadvantage. Memory today is inexpensive and it will make a world of difference in all around performance*.

*To better understand the importance of ram/memory, I use the following: A fire truck responds to a house fire. The pump on the fire truck and the fire hose are first class and can put a sufficient amount of water pressure on the fire. The fire truck has a big water tank inside of it, that the firepump draws from. As this tank gets depleted, another hose needs to be hooked between a fire hydrant and the fire truck to keep the water tank full. When you have insufficient ram/memory, it is like hooking up a 'garden hose'(inadequate memory) to the fire hydrant and this is what is replenishing the fire truck water tank. It will not take to long before the tank is barely being filled and the fire hoses loose pressure putting out water.....you should get the picture. The bigger the ram/memory, the bigger the hose refilling the tank. I hope this helps.
